ZUNICOM, INC. ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF ALPHANET INDEBTEDNESS

CARROLLTON, TX – (Business Wire) – March 13, 2006 – Zunicom, Inc. (OTCBB:ZNCM), parent company to Universal Power Group, Inc. (“UPG”) and AlphaNet Hospitality Systems, Inc. (“AlphaNet”), today announced that AlphaNet’s outstanding principal and interest on a $2,525,000 loan has been fully paid.

The $2,525,000 loan was made by AlphaNet in conjunction with Zunicom’s acquisition of AlphaNet. The loan refinanced a previous AlphaNet indebtedness. The loan had an annual interest rate of 20.5% and was guaranteed by Zunicom. The remaining indebtedness of $217,128 was paid March 9, 2006 .

“We are pleased to finally retire this indebtedness within the first quarter of 2006, as planned,” stated Ian Edmonds , Executive Vice Pre sid ent of Zunicom. “ We look forward to greater focus of resources to further facilitate operational and growth needs. We also expect to announce our 2005 results by month’s end.”
