On June 24, 2003, AlphaNet launched at HITEC 2003, two new additions to
its product line, the LapTop Connect™ and the WaveLan™ wireless
solutions products. Laptop Connect™ allows hotel guests the ability
to connect their laptops to high speed internet access points located
within the hotel by connecting a supplied cable. Laptop Connect™
also offers a hotspot for users wishing to access the internet through
the wireless network feature on their laptop. The WaveLan™ provides
hotel guests with public area wireless internet access. With WaveLan™,
hotels can offer wireless internet access to their guests in any number
of locations including lobbies, meeting rooms, lounges, bars and restaurants.
WaveLan™ and Laptop Connect™ have the potential to become
a revenue generating segment for the hospitality industry.
AlphaNet’s in-room facsimile service InnFax™, and the InnRoom
Business Center™ can be found at hundreds of hotels including major
hotel chains and leading independent properties around the world. The
InnRoom Business Center™ is a private in-room facsimile and printing
service. AlphaNet’s InnRoom Business Centers™ can be found
in every “Business Class” room of the Hyatt chain and in many
leading luxury properties such as The Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza Hotel,
The New York Palace Hotel, and The Mansion on Turtle Creek. By leveraging
and building upon the success of InnFax™ and the InnRoom Business
Center™, AlphaNet successfully launched the automated business center
product, The Office™ in 1998. The Office™ is a 24-hour unattended
self-serve credit card activated hotel business center providing hotel
guests with 24-hour convenient access to various business office services.
AlphaNet continues to diversify and enhance its product line to include
technologies and services geared towards addressing the needs of the corporate
business traveler and people on the move.
To date, AlphaNet’s 350 hotel clients represent more than 20 brands,
such as Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood, Marriott and Kimpton, and span approximately
45,000 rooms worldwide.
